About Douglasdale Charolais Stud

Douglasdale Charolais Stud was established in 2005 using a basis of genetics provided by Palgrove Charolais Stud, Airlie Charolais Stud, Quicksilver, Violet Hills and Rosedale Charolais stud.

Since then we have stabilised high quality genetics so that we now have a quality breeding herd exhibiting moderate birth weights with our females showing high milking rates, raising early maturing calves which are being used extensively by commercial breeders to produce vealers which are marketed to local butchers.

Our vealers in our commercial herd where we have used Charolais bulls across Black Baldy, Murray Grey, Shorthorn and Angus cows have matured at 9 months to dress at approximately 200kg. We are marketing these vealers to a number of Central Coast and Newcastle butchers at a very attractive set price so that our cows in our commercial herd are returning well in excess of $750 per year.
